Political Contributions
Southern Company and its subsidiaries comply with all federal laws restricting political contributions in connection with elections for federal offices. In addition, we refrain from making corporate contributions directly to state and local candidates, state and local political parties, and state and local political committees, even though such contributions would be permitted in certain states. Corporate funds used to make contributions to 527 organizations with the prior approval of the CEO, General Counsel and senior External Affairs officer of Southern Company are disclosed below.
