Southern Investment Plan
The Southern Investment Plan provides a convenient way to purchase shares of Southern Company common stock. Key features of the Plan include:
- $250 minimum initial investment with a one time enrollment fee of $10 for new investors
- Annual investment maximum of $300,000
- No costs to purchase shares
- Ability to invest additional amounts - $25 minimum
- Purchases with cash investments on the 10th and 25th of each month
- Investment through direct debit of bank accounts
- Dividend reinvestment
- Sales of Plan shares
What To Do
- Carefully read the Southern Investment Plan Prospectus before making any investment decision to purchase Southern Company common stock through the Plan.
- If you decide to invest:
- New Investors: If not a registered owner of Southern Company common stock, you may enroll in the Plan by completing a New Investor Enrollment Form and returning it to Stockholder Services with a check for $250 or more up to an annual maximum of $300,000. This enables you to purchase initial shares of stock. There is a one-time enrollment fee of $10.00.
- Current Stockholders: If you currently own shares of Southern Company common stock in registered form, you may enroll in the Plan by completing a Current Shareholder of Record Enrollment Form. This enables you to purchase additional shares of stock as often as twice per month in an amount not less than $25. Your combined investment may not exceed $300,000 in any one calendar year. There are no fees for these investments.
