Traditional Operating Companies
Our strong base includes transmission, distribution and approximately 37,800 megawatts of regulated generation. Plans exist for added capacity through 2020 to meet demand and maintain reliability.

Southern Power
Our competitive generation business has approximately 8,600 megawatts of natural gas genearting capacity and more than 1,950 megawatts of renewable generating capacity.

Dividend

  • In April 2016, increased dividend for the 15th consecutive year on an annualized basis to a rate of $2.24 per share. This makes 274 consecutive quarters - dating back to 1948 - that Southern Company will have paid a dividend to its shareholders equal to or greater than the previous quarter.
